Jessica Cooper

Dr. Jessica Cooper is a proud graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, class of 2010. Following her graduation, she completed a one year rotating emergency/surgery/internal medicine internship at the prestigious Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington D.C. Prior to attending vet school, Dr. Cooper graduated with honors and received multiple scholarships from George Mason University. During her undergraduate work, she was also a full time veterinary assistant at a busy 24-hr ER hospital and managed a 17-horse barn.

Dr. Cooper loves all animals, especially cats and dogs. She remains as busy as ever, with her full time role as Medical Lead at Carmel Road Animal Hospital, being the proud mother of a busy 5 year old. She also continues her large and farm animal experience with a large farm of her own. Being a vegan, the horse, pigs, goats and other critters on her farm are all considered pets, not food.

Dr. Cooper is a member of AAHA and AVMA. She is also Fear Free certified. Dr. Cooper has a long history of practicing mainly emergency and critical care medicine. However; her other interests include geriatrics, pediatric care, preventative medicine, wound care, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Cooper is very passionate about her job. Aside from activities involving her family and 30+ animals, she still finds time to CrossFit at least 5 days/week! Dr. Cooper stays as healthy as possible with exercise, proper nutrition and positivity. She is very excited to be part of the team at Carmel Road Animal Hospital!
